In a city of busy and noise, a man named Peter walked the streets with an air of detachment like a shadow. Once peter used to believe in people. He used to find joy in small moments, solace in the kindness of stranger’s after the tragic events and betrayals by his colleagues. He became distant, his eyes vacant and his words became cold. Now, he was a man who lost faith in humanity from this world. Peter days became a blur of routine. He stopped talking to his neighbors, stopped answering the phone calls and stopped caring about the world around him.
One warm evening, Peter decided to take a break and go for a walk in the nearly park. It’s been a numbers of weeks since he had stopped going outside. Suddenly, he heard a loud cry from the middle of the dense trees in the park. A little boy sat on the ground, his tricycle toppled beside him. Little boy was in heavily tears down and screaming.
Peter approached the little boy and asked whether he is okay or not. The boy looked up, his eyes wide and watery. The boy pointing to his leg and said he hurt his knee while playing with the tricycle and also he wandered away from his mother in the park. By Listening to this Peter knelt down next to him and starts helping the kid. He carefully wiped away the dirt and blood from his knee and told the kid not to be afraid and helped him to find his mother. The little boy face broke into a hesitant smile and said thank you to peter.
While helping the little boy, Peter felt a swell of compassion that he hadn’t felt in ages. He took the little boy with him and searched his mother around the park. The little boy’s mother appears worried. She was so scared and tensed. After looking her son she was filled with relief. She took her son into her arms and gives hugs and kisses.
By seeing this Peter felt unfamiliar warmth in his heart, a fleeting glimpse of something that he had lost forever. The little boy’s mother said thank you to Peter for taking care of her boy and returning him back to her safely. Then the boy came to Peter with a bright smile and said Goodbye to him.
After this incident, Peter totally a changed man , began to rebuild his life. Whenever, he felt depressed he remembered the smile of that little boy and gets motivated to move forward. He started reconnecting with the people around him. Peter, once a man who lost his faith in humanity, had found it again with a small act of Kindness.
